MI Fires offer a range of British designed wood burning stoves.
The three opening models, the Grisedale, the Loughrigg and the Skiddaw, use 5mm and 8mm steel seam welded stove body construction. The firebox is lined with 30mm vermiculite panels, and the cast iron doors are deliberately manufactured with a slender frame. All stoves are finished with a stylish polished stainless steel handle, and an air control lever at the front. This construction allows for a stunning large panoramic window, which is kept clean by a powerful airwash system, so it can show off the fire to its fullest effect.
All three models are equipped with an installer friendly 125mm outlet allowing you to flue the stove from either the top or the rear outlet. Discreet levelling screws are hidden in the legs to ensure that the stove can be secure no matter how uneven the hearth surface is. All three stove models are suitable for installation on a 12mm decorative hearth.
Variable Air Flow and Tertiary Air System
The Grisedale, the Loughriig, and the Skiddaw stoves alll feature a single stainless steel air slider on the front, allowing you to easily control the combustion of your stove. There is a very powerful tertiary system, which is central to the efficiency and cleanliness of the stoves. Pre-heated air is drawn into the fire chamber and then injected into the path of the gasses produced during primary combustion. This re-ignites the gasses resulting in a significantly cleaner and more efficient fire.
Eco Design 2022 Ready
In 2022 there is a brand new European wide program to reduce harmful emissions, as well as improving air quality, coming into force. It's commonly referred to as EcoDesign 2022. MI Fires are fully committed to this clean air strategy, and have chosen to only design models exceeding all EcoDesign criteria. These three stoves offer some of the lowest particulate emmssions in the UK, the Skiddaw produces 13mg, the Grisedale produces 14mg, and the Loughrigg produces 18mg. Efficiency is also very high, the Skiddaw is 85.1% efficient, the Grisedale is 80.4% efficient, and the Loughrigg is 82.7% efficient. All three wood burning stoves have an excellent A+ Energy rating.

The design and effienciency of these stoves mean that they are classified as Smoke Control Area Exempt. This means that they are suitable for burning wood in smoke control areas.
